EthiopiaLow Carbon Development Plans (Ethiopia Low Carbon Growth & 3 Additional Countries); Many developing countries are seeking support and expertise for the development of fact-based, relevant, and context-aware low-carbon growth plans and, in a second step, for turning these plans into reality by means of a detailed and pragmatic roadmap, jointly developed and validated by all stakeholders. Therefore, the project's primary goal is to increase the number of developing countries demonstrating the feasibility and the benefits of a green growth development path. Focus of the first component is the support to low carbon planning in Ethiopia. In the second component three additional partner countries are selected. In the third component, project activities are realized in the selected countries in order to facilitate their assessment and formulation of low carbon development paths. Project activities are mainly the assessment of abatement levers in various sectors as well as for example the development of implementation and MRV systems and capacity development of the local partners. Results of the first component will be presented at the COP in Durban. Throughout the project duration, experiences and the lessons learnt from all four partner countries will be shared publicly in the form of reports, presentations, workshops, and conferences.
