GlobalCanada's fast-start financing is providing support to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for a broad portfolio of clean energy projects in developing countries.  The Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector in the Americas is a new fund that will co-finance, together with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC) and/or the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) resources, select private sector projects that do not benefit from a sovereign guarantee and require concessional loans or guarantees in order to be viable.  Australia has allocated A$24 million, and disbursed A$9 million, to the Least Developed Country Fund (LDCF).
