Chile, India, NigeriaCanada is contributing $200 million in fast-start financing to the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) of the Climate Investments Funds (with $100 million delivered in Canada's fical year 2011/12 and $100 million in 2012/13). The Climate Investment Funds are a pair of funds to help developing countries pilot low-emissions and climate-resilient development. Canada was already a leading contributor in the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) of the CIFs, with $100M provided as a grant over 2008/09-2009/10. The CTF promotes scaled-up financing for demonstration, deployment and transfer of low-carbon technologies with significant potential for long-term greenhouse gas emissions savings. Consistent with a decision of the CIF Board, Canada's contribution to the CTF will support the investment plans of projects in Chile, Nigeria and India.CanadaCaribbean, Latin AmericaClean Technology Fund (CTF) Mitigation 100.000CAD2012FY 2011/2012

EthiopiaLow Carbon Development Plans (Ethiopia Low Carbon Growth & 3 Additional Countries); Many developing countries are seeking support and expertise for the development of fact-based, relevant, and context-aware low-carbon growth plans and, in a second step, for turning these plans into reality by means of a detailed and pragmatic roadmap, jointly developed and validated by all stakeholders. Therefore, the project's primary goal is to increase the number of developing countries demonstrating the feasibility and the benefits of a green growth development path. Focus of the first component is the support to low carbon planning in Ethiopia. In the second component three additional partner countries are selected. In the third component, project activities are realized in the selected countries in order to facilitate their assessment and formulation of low carbon development paths. Project activities are mainly the assessment of abatement levers in various sectors as well as for example the development of implementation and MRV systems and capacity development of the local partners. Results of the first component will be presented at the COP in Durban. Throughout the project duration, experiences and the lessons learnt from all four partner countries will be shared publicly in the form of reports, presentations, workshops, and conferences.
